Counselling in Glossop

I offer 50-minute counselling sessions from my private practice in Glossop, as well as online and telephone sessions.

£65 per 50-minute session

I want to be transparent about the cost of counselling from the beginning, so you can make an informed decision about whether working together feels right for you.

Your first step

Before arranging a session, I offer a free introductory chat.

This is a chance for us to talk, get a feel for one another and discuss what you're looking for from counselling. I'll explain a little about how I work and answer any questions you have. There's no pressure to book. Sometimes the most important thing is just knowing you've taken the first step.

How often will we meet?

I usually recommend weekly sessions when we begin. Regular sessions give us an opportunity to build our therapeutic relationship and create some consistency while we're getting to know one another. We'll review this together as our work develops. Some people eventually find that fortnightly sessions feel more appropriate. The decision remains yours. I don't recommend more frequent sessions.

How long will counselling last?

I recommend a minimum of six sessions. There is no maximum number of sessions. The length of our work together will depend on what you need and what feels appropriate as we progress. I believe therapy benefits from having a beginning, middle and end. When the time feels right, we'll reflect on where we started, what has shifted and what a healthy ending might look like.

Ways of working

Face-to-face 

Sessions take place in my private counselling room in Glossop, with a separate entrance directly from the street. The room has been thoughtfully created to be comfortable, private and welcoming.

Online

Online sessions offer flexibility for people who prefer to work from home or have busy schedules.

Telephone

Telephone counselling can offer another way of accessing therapy without the pressure of being on camera or travelling. Some people, particularly neurodivergent clients, have found this format more comfortable. We'll discuss which option feels right for you.

Payment

Sessions are paid for by bank transfer before the appointment. If you need to cancel or rearrange, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice. I understand that genuine emergencies and exceptional circumstances happen. If something unexpected occurs, please contact me as soon as you can and we'll discuss it together.

Based in Glossop
