What can we explore together?
You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis or a neatly defined problem to come to counselling. Sometimes you simply know that something doesn't feel right. Perhaps you're overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, exhausted, struggling in your relationships or finding it difficult to understand yourself. You might not even know what you're looking for yet. That's okay. We can begin there.
ADHD & neurodivergence
Living in a world that isn't always designed with neurodivergent people in mind can be exhausting. You may have spent years masking, feeling different, struggling with expectations or wondering why things that seem easy for other people feel so difficult for you. I work from a neurodiversity-affirmative perspective, exploring the whole person rather than reducing you to a diagnosis or a list of difficulties.
Addiction
Addiction and emotional pain can be deeply connected. Through my clinical experience, I've supported people exploring the emotional landscape around addiction with compassion and without judgement. If you are already working with a recovery worker or another service, counselling can sit alongside that support. You don't need to have stopped using substances to explore what is happening emotionally.
Trauma & difficult experiences
Difficult experiences can affect how we understand ourselves, relate to others and move through the world. I have experience supporting people affected by trauma and continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing professional development. If you want to explore something difficult, you don't have to tell the whole story at once. We'll work at your pace and pay attention to how it feels to talk about what has happened, as well as what has happened itself.
Identity & self-understanding
Sometimes the question isn't "What's wrong with me?"
It's: "Who am I underneath all of this?"
We can explore identity, self-esteem, self-criticism, people-pleasing, masking, relationships and the expectations you've learned to carry. You don't need to arrive knowing who you are. Sometimes therapy gives us the space to find out.
Relationships
Our relationships can bring some of our deepest experiences to the surface. We can explore patterns in your relationships, how you relate to yourself and others, boundaries, communication, attachment and the experiences that may have shaped how you connect. You don't need to know what category you fit into. You are more than the reason you came to counselling. If something is affecting your life and you'd like somewhere to explore it, you're welcome to get in touch. We can start with what's happening for you now.
